Rules and measurements can differ
States can use different reference points, threshold operators, daytime and nighttime equipment rules, maximum projections and exceptions. Wheelbase, last-axle position, vehicle and load total length, load width, special cargo, commercial status, route restrictions and permit conditions can change the answer.
No load-securement or product-fit determination
Overhangers does not calculate weight distribution, structural capacity, tie-down forces, anchor-point capacity, visibility obstruction, product compatibility or manufacturer approval. Follow the vehicle, cargo and equipment manufacturers' current instructions and limits.
Official sources control
Rule summaries can become outdated or contain errors. The linked government source and current law control if they differ from Overhangers. Confirm the rule immediately before driving and obtain qualified assistance for uncertain or complex situations.
No permit service
The site does not issue permits or approve routes. A result that calls for manual review should not be treated as permission to proceed.
