Source standard
State-rule claims are based on state government, state legislature, state transportation department or another directly responsible government source. Federal material is used only when a federal rule actually applies; it is not used as a substitute for an unverified consumer state rule.
Rule records
Covered rules record the source URL, cited provision, measurement reference point, threshold operator, daytime and nighttime requirements, known maximum-projection treatment, manual-review conditions and the most recent verification date.
Uncertainty and exceptions
The site separates marker status, projection-rule status and manual checks. When wheelbase, last-axle position, total length, special cargo, commercial status, route restrictions or permits can affect the answer, the site calls for manual verification instead of presenting a general safety or legality verdict.
Commercial independence
Official sources remain visible alongside results. Product links do not change the legal measurement and do not determine the rule summary. Any future affiliate or sponsorship relationship will be disclosed.
Worked examples are not vehicle specifications
Dimension examples are hypothetical unless explicitly attributed to a verified source. The simple physical calculation assumes a straight, horizontal load aligned with the bed's front wall. It does not model angled or offset cargo, continuous support contact or load distribution. Example links can prefill dimensions, but users must replace them with their own measurements and separately measure the legal projection.
What each date means
The rules-last-verified date records a check of the cited official provisions. A guide-updated date records a material content change, such as a new example or corrected instruction. Retailer facts have their own product-check dates. Updating a guide or its design does not mean that a product was retested or that a law changed.
Corrections and review cadence
Rules are rechecked before a state page is published and periodically thereafter. A page displays its most recent verification date. If an official source changes or a material error is identified, the affected result or page should be corrected before expanding similar content.
